Dearness Allowance (DA) is an essential financial support provided to government employees and pensioners. In April 2025, the central government has taken a significant decision concerning DA arrears that will provide respite to lakhs of employees. Under this update, the payment of pending DA arrears has been expedited so that employees can receive their due amount soon.

Increased monthly pension will also be given to pensioners which will be as a result of the DA increased rate. Besides them, further assistance will be provided under the Dearness Relief (DR) scheme.
